On Thursday 21st March 2013, Holmwood Public School celebrated Harmony Day. Harmony Day is a special day where we as Australians, acknowledge the wonderful cultural diversity that exists in our country. This year HPS decided to celebrate the culture and cuisine of Sri Lanka, as it was our Guest Nation in this year's "Cowra Festival of International Understanding". Each class selected a dish to prepare for our amazing three course Sri Lankan feast. Year 2 and 3 cooked Salmon and Rice Balls, Year 4, 5 and 6 cooked Chicken Biryani with Roti Bread and Kinder and Year 1 made a delicious dessert called Mango Lassi. We invited our parents and community members to come and join with us as we shared in a delicious lunch, cooked and served by the students. It was a wonderful celebration and so great to see everyone come along on the day!
